What a list! The 17 wealthiest Quebecers in Canada

Canadan Business Magazine has come out with its annual list of Canada’s 100 wealthiest people, with 17 Quebecers among them.  Paul Desmarais, head of the Power Corporation, is seventh overall at $4.4 billion. He  is followed by the  Saputo family, eighth at $4.23 billion courtesy of their food products and other ventures; 90 year old builder David J. Azrieli, 16^th at $2.8 billion; Charles Bronfman, 21^st, at  $2.4 billion; the Cirque de Soleil`s Guy Laliberté, 27^th, at $1.98 billion; Future Electronics boss Robert Miller, 29^th, at $1.94 billion; builder Marcel Adams, 31^st, at $1.93 billion;  clothing executive, race car lover and one time Côte Saint-Luc minor baseball star pitcher Lawrence Stroll, 32^nd, at $1.9 billion; the Bombardier family, 33^rd, at $1.89 billion; pharmacy mogul Jean Coutu, 35^th, at $1.83 billion; investor Stephen Jarislowsky, 47^th, at $1.48 billion; Dollarama’s Larry Rossy, 54^th, at $1.25 billion; telecommunications giant Charles Sirois, 64^th, at $1.07 billion; Alain Bouchard of Couche Tard, 66^th, at $1.04 billion; shoe store king Aldo Bensadoun, 89^th, at $763 million; the de Gaspé Beaubien family, telecommunications giants as well , 92^nd, at $714 million; and media magnate Pierre Karl Peladeau, 97^th, at $673 million. Note that Stroll and Sirois became the newest Quebec members to the billionaire club.
